Their Need

The DuPage County Public Safety Communications department handles the 9-1-1- calls for all of DuPage County Illinois. While they had an existing website, it was a not a website that had any practical use as a business tool. The website could not be used to communicate with surrounding communities. Plus, it was not used to provide information, such as traffic information, which then required various media outlets to use the 9-1-1 number to get non-emergency information.

The Solution

hurriKane Solutions created a website that allowed them to post secure information for police, fire chiefs and other key officials in DuPage county. Plus hurriKane added a feature that updates traffic in the county so that media outlets can get live traffic information without having to contact the call center.

hurriKane Solutions also improved communications for the entire county and provided easy access to critical information. hurriKane Solutions also provided website tools that are easy to use which greatly eased the burden on internal departments, and made updating the website much easier. Finally, hurriKane Solutions provided tools that allow them to post job openings and manage information for job applicants.
