hurriKane Solutions Targets Law Enforcement Training for Strike Tactical Solutions
Interactive development agency, hurriKane Solutions, has completed the website development and design for Strike Tactical Solutions, a provider of police tactical training and related products with headquarters in Lake Zurich, Illinois and South Africa. Founded in 2005, Strike Tactical Solutions is a start-up company, and www.striketactical.com is the company's first website.
Strike Tactical Solutions offers tactical training courses, products, and instruction exclusively to law enforcement and military personnel. When it came time to establish a web presence, lead instructor Henk Iverson said, "hurriKane Solutions came highly recommended after creating the web site for sister company M&A Parts, Inc. in 2004 (www.mapartsinc.com)."
"We were familiar with hurriKane from a website they did for our sister company last year, and were impressed with the design and functionality of the site. So, when it came time to launch Strike, we were confident that hurriKane would be able to provide what we needed," said Iverson.
In completing the first phase of the site's development, hurriKane Solutions ensured it was XHTML compliant, CSS compliant and Section 508 compliant. The site was also developed to be fully database driven, and updatable through a suite of customized administrative tools. This enables Strike to make routine content changes when necessary, such as updates to Online Training Schedules . Seth Kane, managing partner of hurriKane Solutions, believes that database driven web solutions are becoming more popular as more clients realize the benefit in being able to update content on their own.
"Regularly updating content is one of the best ways to ensure people and search engines come back to your site. Database driven sites like this one are good because they're easier to update. So instead of coming back to hurriKane every time the client needs something changed, Strike can make their own changes as needed and update their site as often as they want," says Kane.
The second phase of the site's development process will involve getting the site set-up with an e-commerce registration system and storefront. "Strike wants the site to have e-commerce functionality so it can offer products that would complement the company's many training services," says Kane. hurriKane is planning to incorporate the e-commerce functionality within the navigation of the main site so that visitors will be able to place orders directly through Strike, without having to go through a secondary e-commerce vendor. This will keep customers on the secured site through the entire purchase process.
